Man Killed in Tustin Accident on Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Tustin Ranch Road
Tustin, California (November 20, 2020) – A man was killed Thursday night in a two-vehicle accident on 5 Freeway in Tustin, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash, which was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at around 11:50 p.m. Thursday, November 19, happened on the southbound Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Tustin Ranch Road.
According to the CHP, a semi-truck was traveling southbound on Santa Ana (5) Freeway when, for an unknown reason, it was rear-ended by another vehicle.
Deadly Accident on 5 Freeway in Tustin
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the man lying down in the traffic lanes. He was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of family.
It remains unknown whether the victim exited the vehicle after the accident and was hit by passing vehicles or was ejected from his SUV.
Police closed the southbound lanes of the freeway at Tustin Ranch Road as they investigated the crash.
