San Diego, California (April 26, 2021) – A 57-year-old man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident on Sunday afternoon in Pacific Beach.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 5050 Mission Boulevard near Opal Street at about 3:05 p.m. April 25.

A motorcycle was traveling northbound on Mission when it collided with a 2018 Volkswagen Atlas that was turning onto Mission from Opal Street.

The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike.

The authorities said the man suffered serious leg injuries in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The condition of the 43-year-old man who was driving the Volkswagen was not disclosed.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
