Man Killed in Redding Pedestrian Accident on Riverland Drive near Knighton Road
Redding, California (July 5, 2021) – A 25-year-old man died in a pedestrian accident in Redding on Monday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Riverland Drive near Knighton Road at about 2:45 a.m.
The man was walking south on Riverland Drive when he was struck by a 1999 Toyota Corolla driven by 18-year-old Oscar R. Castro Jr.
The pedestrian died at the scene of the accident.
The identity of the deceased was not immediately disclosed.
The police ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the crash.
