Man Killed in Hollywood Hit-and-Run Accident at Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue
Hollywood, California (February 11, 2021) – A man who was injured Saturday night in an alleged DUI hit-and-run accident at an intersection in Hollywood has succumbed to his injuries, according to authorities.
The crash took place at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, February 6 at the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Wilcox Avenue.
Authorities said Jonathan Watts, 23, of Texas, was driving a white BMW sedan when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the Hollywood intersection and crashed into a black Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead at about 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
Watts did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled on foot. He was later arrested and booked into jail.
No further details regarding the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
