Man and Child Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 20 near Walker Ridge Road in Lake County

Lake County, California (August 3, 2020) – A man was killed and a child was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident near the Lake-Colusa County line on Saturday night.
According to a local news source, the accident happened on Highway 20 near Walker Ridge Road at about 10:10 p.m. August 1.
The California Highway Patrol said a 42-year-old Marysville man was riding a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle with a 7-year-old boy riding as his passenger. The two were riding westbound on Highway 20 and were approaching a curve when they collided with an eastbound 2016 Mazda CX5 driven by 43-year-old Andrea Bales.

The unidentified motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The juvenile passenger was transported to Adventist Health Clear Lake where he succumbed to his injuries.
Bales sustained major injuries and was transported to Adventist Health Clear Lake for treatment.
The three individuals were using their safety equipment.
The CHP said alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
