Man Injured in San Jose Train Crash at Diridon Station
San Jose, California (July 20, 2019) – A bicyclist was struck and injured by a Santa Clara VTA light rail train on Friday morning in downtown San Jose, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident took place near the Diridon Station shortly before 9 a.m. Friday, July 19.
Deputies said a man was walking his bicycle across the tracks and did not see the oncoming train. The Winchester-bound VTA train was approaching the Diridon Station when it hit the man.

The man got pinned under the train and was rescued by the first responders.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
