Man Suffers Serious Injuries in Madera Accident on Highway 99 near Avenue 16

Madera, California (March 6, 2021) – A 37-year-old Copperopolis man sustained major injuries following an alleged hit-and-run pedestrian accident that occurred in Madera on Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol said the major injury crash took place along Highway 99 near Avenue 16.
The male pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in a southbound lane of the roadway for unknown reasons.

The victim, whose name was not revealed, sustained major injuries and was transported to a Fresno hospital for medication.
Meanwhile, officials shut down a portion of Highway 99 for an unknown time.
The CHP is still investigating to locate the involved driver who escaped the crash site without rendering aid to the victim.
