Madera, California (May 21, 2019) – One person suffered serious injuries in an accident involving a semi and an SUV on Tuesday morning in Madera, as per a police report.
The crash was reported at around 8:13 a.m. May 21, along Road 23 and Avenue 15.
According to California Highway Patrol, a Jeep Cherokee and a semi-tractor trailer were involved in the crash. The impact caused the truck to overturned and leaked diesel fuel into the roadway creating a hazmat situation that required cleanup.
At least one person in the SUV sustained significant injuries in the collision and was transported to the hospital for treatment.
No other injuries were reported in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
