Lynette Alling and Jonathan Dillon-Ward Injured in Car Accident on 197 near Charlie Drive in Del Norte County
Fort Dick, California (March 18, 2021) – Two people were injured in a car accident in Fort Dick, Del Norte County, on Wednesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on State Route 197 near Charlie Drive at about 5:30 p.m. March 17.
25-year-old Jonathan Dillon-Ward, of Smith River, was driving an Acura sedan southbound on Highway 197 when he lost control and drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a GMC pickup truck driven by 50-year-old Lynette Lorraine Alling, of Crescent City.
Dillon-Ward sustained major injuries in the accident and was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital for treatment.
Alling was also transported to the same hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
