Boyle Heights, California (August 27, 2019) – 23-year-old Luis Rayaflores has been identified as the hit-and-run driver who struck and severely injured a bicyclist in Boyle Heights last week on Thursday night.

The collision was reported at about 10:20 p.m. August 22, along Whittier Boulevard just east of Calzona Street.

As per the report, a white pickup truck driven by Rayaflores along Whittier Boulevard slammed into a male bicyclist for unknown reasons.

The bicyclist sustained severe injuries in the crash. It was not mentioned whether or not the victim was transported to the hospital for treatment after the accident.

Rayaflores did not stop to offer aid to the injured party but fled from the scene. Rayaflores was arrested on Tuesday at about 10:30 a.m. at his home in Canoga Park and taken into custody.

The cause of the accident is still ongoing.
