CHP Investigating Fatal Lost Hills Truck Crash on 5 Freeway near Highway 46
Lost Hills, California (July 17, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision involving two semis that happened early Wednesday morning in Lost Hills.
According to CHP, the 5 Freeway collision occurred at about 12:04 a.m. in the southbound lanes about a mile north of Highway 46.
Two semi-trucks and a third vehicle were involved in the accident, authorities said. The manner of the crash was not mentioned.
A caller told officers that one person was ejected from their vehicle onto the right-hand shoulder in the crash.
At Least 1 Killed in 5 Freeway Collision in Lost Hills
Responding firefighters and paramedics confirmed that at least one person was killed in the collision. It was not clear if the other parties involved in the accident were injured.
The vehicles were blocking traffic lanes, and tow trucks were requested to clear the roadway.
The cause of the crash will be established when authorities conclude their investigation.
