Los Banos, CA: DUI Car Accident at Pacheco Boulevard and 4th Street, February 23
2 Teens Injured in Los Banos Car Crash on East Pacheco Boulevard and 4th Street; Mauro Martinez Arrested
Los Banos, California (March 1, 2019) – Two teenage girls were injured Saturday night in an alleged DUI crash in Los Banos, according to a local news source.
The wreck, which was reported at around 9:13 p.m. Saturday, happened in the area of East Pacheco Boulevard and 4th Street.
As per the report, Mauro Martinez, 33, of Los Banos, was driving a 2006 Dodge Charger westbound on East Pacheco Boulevard when he ran a red light.
The Charger then collided with a 2016 Dodge Journey that was headed eastbound while it was turning left onto 4th Street.
The force of the impact caused the Journey to overturn.
The 17-year-old female driver of the Journey and her 15-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital. The names of the victims and their condition were not immediately provided.
According to the report, Martinez failed a field sobriety test and was arrested and later booked into the Merced County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence.
David Alvarez, who was a passenger in Charger, was also detained but was released without any charges.
The crash remains under investigation.
