Watts, California (December 26, 2020) – A 50-year-old man from Los Angeles man was hit and killed by a vehicle on Friday afternoon in Watts, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at around 2:53 p.m., on December 25, on Harbor (110) Freeway at Century Boulevard off-ramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2015 Nissan Altima, driven by a 23-year-old Los Angeles man, was in the exit lane when it veered off the pavement into the side of a dirt embankment, crashed into a raised concrete curb, multiple trees, and the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was reportedly standing on a dirt embankment on the side of the freeway at the time.

Pedestrian Killed in Crash on 110 Freeway

The 50-year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The involved driver suffered an abrasion to a lip and pain in his chest. It was not clear if he was hospitalized.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
