Los Angeles, California (March 10, 2020) – A schoolboy died following a pedestrian accident that took place at about 7:30 a.m., March 10, in South Los Angeles, a local news source reported.

Officials said the fatal pedestrian crash occurred on Tuesday morning at Woodlawn and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, the accident began when a car was hit by another car that was making a turn at the intersection. The car that was hit then struck the boy who was walking to middle school.

The operator of the involved vehicle stopped after the crash and cooperated with the investigation.

Despite life-saving measures by officers from the Los Angeles Fire Department and paramedics, the boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The wreck resulted in the closure of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard temporarily as investigation and clean up took place.

The CHP is still investigating to identify the cause of the accident.
