Los Angeles, California (March 13, 2021) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle late Friday night in Los Angeles, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident occurred at about 10:45 p.m., on March 12, on Santa Monica (10) Freeway near Los Angeles Street off-ramp.

According to the officials, the pedestrian was walking westbound on the freeway when a 2001 Ford Escort, driven by Samuel Nunez, 22, of Los Angeles, struck them.

Following the collision, the pedestrian was reportedly struck by at least one other vehicle.

Pedestrian Killed in Crash on 10 Freeway

Sadly the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nunez remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. He was being held in lieu of $2 million bail.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
