Los Angeles, CA: Fatal Wrong-Way DUI Crash on 110 Freeway

Los Angeles, California (April 2, 2021) – Two people were killed and three others were injured early Tuesday morning in an alleged DUI crash in downtown Los Angeles, according to a local news source.

The deadly crash, which involved three vehicles, happened at around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, on the northbound side of Harbor (110) Freeway at 9th Street.

Authorities said a Lexus SUV was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes when it collided head-on with an oncoming Toyota sedan.

A third vehicle reportedly crashed into the debris.

Both occupants of the Toyota sedan, a man and a woman, both 30 years old, were killed in the accident. Their names have not been disclosed.

The male driver of the SUV was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by emergency personnel. He was then taken to a local hospital with major injuries.

A female passenger in the SUV and a 2-year-old child in the backseat were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Several lanes were closed following the accident. Authorities believed alcohol played a role in the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
