Los Angeles, California (January 29, 2021) – One person was injured in a semi-truck rollover crash on Friday morning in Los Angeles, authorities said.

The fiery single-vehicle accident occurred at about 3:35 a.m. on Santa Monica (10) Freeway near Santa Fe Avenue exit.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer rolled over, caught fire, and came to rest hanging over the edge of the eastbound Santa Monica Freeway for undetermined reasons.

Following the collision, the big rig caught fire but was contained by the first responders, the officials said.

According to the authorities, the driver of the truck was able to get out of the big rig before firefighters arrived and was not hurt. One patient who was not in the truck was taken to a hospital in an unknown condition.

Traffic on the roadway was stopped until about 6:00 a.m. due to the accident.

The crash remains under investigation.
