Lorenzo Martinez Among 4 Hospitalized after Fresno Crash on State Route 145 near Kerman
Fresno, California (July 7, 2019) – The driver of a vehicle that collided with a big rig, killing one of its passengers and injuring four other people on Friday afternoon near Kerman, Fresno, has been identified as Lorenzo Martinez of Madera, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident happened on State Route 145 near Floral Avenue just after 1:45 p.m. on Friday, June 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Martinez was driving a Dodge Durango occupied by five people heading northbound on State Route 145 when, for an unknown reason, the Dodge collided with a big rig.
The force of the impact caused the Durango to roll over several times.

A male occupant of the Durango was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of family.
Martinez and one passenger sustained major injuries while the other two passengers suffered moderate injuries. All patients were transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Downtown Fresno.
The driver of the big rig was unhurt.
It was not immediately clear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the wreck.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
