Lorene Negrete Killed after Tractor-Trailer Hits Car on Lincoln Road in Fowler
Lorene Negrete ID’d as Woman Killed in Fowler Crash at Lincoln Road and Temperance Avenue
Fowler, California (November 26, 2020) – The woman who died after a tractor-trailer crashed into a car Wednesday evening near Fowler in Fresno County has been identified as Lorene Negrete, 57, of Del Rey.
The deadly crash occurred at around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, at the intersection of Lincoln Road and Temperance Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, Negrete was driving her white Ford Fusion westbound on Lincoln Road towards Temperance Avenue when a tractor-trailer pulled into the intersection from northbound Temperance Avenue.
The big rig reportedly entered the path of the Ford Fusion. Both vehicles ultimately collided.
As a result of the crash, the Ford Fusion became wedged underneath the trailer. Authorities said westbound and eastbound traffic on Lincoln Road don’t have a stop sign at the intersection.
Deadly Big Rig Accident on Lincoln Road
Negrete was pronounced dead at the scene.
The operator of the big rig stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the collision.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
