Woman Killed, 1 Hospitalized After Long Beach Car Crash on 405 Freeway

Long Beach, California (September 30, 2019) – A female party was killed in a traffic collision in the area of Long Beach on Sunday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.
The fatal collision, which happened at around 1:05 p.m. September 29, occurred on the 405 Freeway south of the Wardlow Road exit.
The CHP said that a vehicle of unspecified type loose tire on the southbound side of the Freeway that crossed over the center divider and collided with an SUV driven by the female party in northbound lanes.

The female driver was sadly pronounced dead in the crash. Firefighters who arrived at the scene shortly after the wreck used the Jaws of Life to free a male passenger from the wrecked SUV. He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The names of both the deceased and the wounded parties remain unknown to this time.
The crash resulted in the closure of all lanes of the Freeway up to around 7:00 p.m.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
