Major Injuries Sustained in Livermore Crash on Highway 84 near Vallecitos Road

Livermore, California (April 25, 2021) – Major injuries were sustained in a Livermore crash involving multiple vehicles Saturday night on Highway 84, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities responded to the westbound lanes of the highway near Vallecitos Road, where the accident occurred at around 8:44 p.m.
Five vehicles were involved in the pileup under unclear circumstances.
A party reporting the collision said one of the cars crossed from the westbound traffic into the eastbound traffic.
Another party told authorities that someone was trapped in a car that was on fire, but they were able to get them out of the vehicle.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and closed the highway in both directions.
An unknown number of parties suffered major injuries in the accident. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene to offer medical aid.
Several vehicles were towed away from the scene with crash damage.
CHP is investigating the incident.
