Fatal I-580 Crash in Livermore Snarls Traffic Near Airway Boulevard
Livermore, California (September 21, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision that caused one of the vehicles to overturn on I-580 Monday afternoon.
The fatal crash happened at about 1:22 p.m. on westbound 580 Freeway, just west of Airway Boulevard in Livermore.
According to the report, a semi-truck and a car were involved in the crash. The crash caused the SUV to overturn four times across the 580 Freeway.
The CHP issued a SigAlert at about 1:54 p.m., closing lanes 3, 4, and 5 of I-580 near Airway Blvd. The alert was canceled at about 4:04 p.m., and all lanes were opened.
No additional information regarding the crash was provided.
The accident is under investigation.
