Leonel Tinoco ID’d as Man Killed in Santa Maria Crash on West Stowell Road near Blosser Road

Santa Maria, California (February 13, 2020) – The man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision early Friday morning in Santa Maria has been identified as Leonel Tinoco, 37, of Santa Maria, according to the Santa Maria police.
The crash took place on West Stowell Road near Blosser Road at around 1:25 a.m. February 7.
Police said Tinoco’s vehicle was broadsided by a vehicle driven by Michael Lee, 25, of Santa Maria. The circumstances under which the two collided was still under investigation.

Tinoco was reportedly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Lee was treated for minor injuries.
Police said speed was suspected to be a factor in the crash.
Lee was arrested on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and DUI causing injuries.
The Santa Maria Police Department is under investigation.
