Leonel Dias Seriously Injured in Crash on Highway 99 in Turlock
Leonel Dias ID’d as Man Hospitalized after Turlock Crash on Highway 99 near West Main Street
Turlock, California (December 22, 2020) – Leonel Dias, 24, of Ceres, has been identified as the man who was hospitalized after a Saturday morning traffic accident in Turlock, authorities said.
The major injury single-vehicle accident transpired at about 2:00 a.m., on December 20, on Highway 99 near West Main Street.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2001 GMC SUV, driven by Dias, drift off the east side of the highway, crashed into a metal bridge railing, and then plunged down the embankment before coming to a rest on West Main Street.
First responders arrived at the scene and extricated Dias who was trapped in his vehicle.

Dias, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
