Lemoore, CA: Major Injury Head-On Collision on Highway 41
3 Injured, 1 Seriously, in Lemoore Car Crash on Highway 41 near Nevada Avenue
Lemoore, California (June 9, 2021) – Three people were injured, one seriously, following a Wednesday morning head-on crash south of Lemoore, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The wreck happened at about 8:55 a.m. on Highway 41 near Nevada Avenue and just north of Kettleman City.
According to the CHP, a white Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Highway 41 at approximately 80 miles per hour when the driver attempted to pass a big rig and another vehicle.
The Ford driver failed to notice an oncoming white Hyundai Elantra that was traveling at about 55 miles per hour. Both drivers swerved to the right to avoid the collision but were not successful.
The two vehicles ultimately collided head-on. After the impact, the Ford veered off the road and went into a dry ravine. The front half of the Hyundai was completely destroyed following the crash.
Major Injury Traffic Collision in Lemoore
The driver and passenger of the Ford sustained minor injuries while the Hyundai driver sustained major injuries.
All three patients were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia and Adventist Health in Hanford. The driver of the Hyundai was airlifted due to the severity of his injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
