Larry Johnson Killed in Oildale Motorcycle Crash at Merle Haggard Drive and Airport Drive
Oildale, California (July 30, 2021) – The motorcyclist who died after crashing into a semi-truck in Oildale on Friday morning has been identified as Larry Sherman Johnson III, 26, of Bakersfield, according to the coroner’s office.
The crash happened at Merle Haggard and Airport drives at around 12:15 a.m. July 23, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A big rig was reportedly traveling the wrong way on Merle Haggard Drive when it collided with a motorcycle driven by Johnson.
The big rig then went over the center divider and crashed into multiple trees.

Johnson was killed in the accident.
The driver of the big rig stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
