Driver and Deputy Hurt in Lancaster Car Crash at Avenue K and Challenger Way

Lancaster, California (May 27, 2020) – Two people were injured following a traffic collision involving a patrol car at an intersection in Lancaster Friday afternoon.
The non-life threatening injury crash occurred at about 5:08 p.m. May 22, at the intersection of Avenue K and Challenger Way.
As per the report, the accident began when a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy who was traveling east on Avenue K initiated a northbound turn onto Challenger Way. At the same time, a juvenile female party was driving a midsize sedan west on Avenue K . The two vehicles then collided near the center of the intersection.

Officials said both the deputy and the female motorist sustained non-life threatening injuries in the wreck.
The deputy was attended to by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, but the other motorist rejected first aid treatment.
The accident remains under investigation.
