Joshua Tree, California (January 19, 2019) – The woman who was killed after being mauled by a four pit bulls Wednesday night in her home in Joshua Tree has been identified as Lana Bergman, 70, of Joshua Tree, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

The fatal incident happened at an unspecified time Wednesday, January 16. The exact scene of the accident was not mentioned in the report.

Authorities said Bergman was home alone with four dogs when the dogs attacked her.

Bergman succumbed to her injuries shortly after.

According to the authorities, the dogs belong to a friend who lived with Bergman and her husband and that they were considered family pets. It’s unknown what prompted the dogs to attack.

The incident remains under investigation.
