52-Year-Old Lal Singh Killed in Selma Bicycle Accident on Mountain View Avenue
Fresno County, California (September 30, 2019) – 52-year-old Lal Singh of India has been identified as the victim killed in a traffic crash involving a bicycle in Selma last week on Thursday evening, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The fatal crash took place on the westbound lane of Mountain View just west of Thompson Avenue at around 6:00 p.m. September 26.
Singh was struck by a 19-year-old Savannah Gomez while riding legally in the center of the westbound lane of the highway. The primary report indicated that Singh was struck from behind by Gomez who was driving a 2005 Audi sedan. Due to the impact, Singh was thrown to the ground.
Singh was sadly pronounced dead at the scene following the accident.
Gomez told authorities she did not see the victim at the time of the collision.
Police affirmed that alcohol or drugs were not factors in the crash
Gomez was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and for driving without a license.
The investigation is underway.
