Lake Elsinore, CA: DUI Crash at Blackwell Boulevard and Grand Avenue
3 Injured in Lake Elsinore Car Accident at Blackwell Boulevard and Grand Avenue
Lake Elsinore, California (January 26, 2019) – Three people were injured in a suspected DUI accident involving two vehicles at an intersection near Lake Elsinore on Saturday morning, CHP said.
The crash took place shortly before 3 a.m. at Blackwell Boulevard and Grand Avenue.
CHP said a Ford Mustang was traveling east on Blackwell Boulevard when its driver failed to stop for a red light and was hit by a Honda SUV heading south on Grand Avenue.
The impact of the crash caused the Mustang driver to be partially ejected from his vehicle because he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.
The SUV was pushed down the embankment and into a tree. The two occupants sustained moderate injuries and the driver was taken to a hospital. The passenger declined medical attention.
The driver of the Mustang was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The crash remained under investigation.
