Motorcyclist Injured in La Presa Motorcycle Crash on Paradise Valley Road near Elkelton Boulevard
La Presa, California (September 7, 2019) – A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries as a result of a crash involving a fire engine on Thursday night in La Presa, according to authorities.
The fatal crash happened a while before 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, on Paradise Valley Road near Elkelton Boulevard.
As per the CHP officials, a 59-year-old man from Spring Valley was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Paradise Valley Road when he was struck by a San Miguel Fire & Rescue vehicle. The impact sent the motorcycle underneath the fire engine.
The crews of the firetruck were reportedly responding to a medical emergency with their lights and siren activated into an apartment complex when they turned right into the path of the rider and hit him.
Motorcycle Crash with Fire Engine on Paradise Valley Road
Responding firefighters extricated the motorcyclist. The man was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment of a moderately severe leg trauma. The patient’s name and their current condition were not immediately released.
The occupants in the firetruck were not injured in the collision.
Authorities did not suspect alcohol or drugs to be factors in the collision.
