Plumas, California (April 12, 2021) – L. Jaimes, 58, of Greenville, has been identified as one of the two parties who were injured in a Sunday evening traffic accident involving a motorcycle in Crescent Mills, a census-designated place in Plumas County, according to officials.

The accident happened just before 7:00 p.m. on Highway 89, south of the Dawn Community Center.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2011 Harley Davidson operated by D. Kuykendall, 53, of Redding, was headed southbound on the highway when it crossed the double-parallel, solid yellow centerline and entered into the path of a 2013 Kia.

The Kia, driven by Jaimes, was reportedly traveling northbound on Highway 89 when the collision occurred.

Due to the collision, Kuykendall was ejected onto the southbound lane of the highway.

CareFlight airlifted Kuykendall to Renown Regional Medical Center with major injuries. Jaimes was taken via ground ambulance to Plumas District Hospital with minor injuries.

The motorcycle was towed away with moderate front-end damage, and the Kia also with moderate front-end damage.

CHP is investigating the incident.
