Officer Injured, Kolton Matosich Arrested after Capitola Car Crash at Capitola Road and 49th Avenue
Capitola, California (September 7, 2020) – Kolton Matosich, 29, of Santa Cruz, has been identified as the suspect who was arrested after a DUI accident on Saturday evening in Capitola, police said.
The minor injury motorcycle accident occurred at about 7:53 p.m., on September 5, at the intersection of Capitola Road and 49th Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Matosich was driving a 2009 Hyundai Genesis when he made a left turn in front of a police officer’s motorcycle.
Matosich, who was allegedly drunk, struck the police officer.

The police officer sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Matosich fled the scene but was arrested for felony DUI.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
