Klamath, California (July 26, 2020) – At least one person sustained serious injuries following a traffic accident that happened Saturday night in Klamath, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.  

The major injury collision happened at about 9:39 p.m. Saturday, July 25, on Highway 101 near the Last Chance Grade.  

According to the CHP report, a van collided with a sedan in the southbound lane of the highway. Details of what led up to the collision at this time were not immediately disclosed.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid to at least one person who suffered major injuries following the crash. The patient was then taken to a local hospital for treatment.  

The name and condition of the victim were not immediately diclosed.

A section of the northbound Highway 101 and the southbound lane were closed for more than an hour due to the crash.  

An investigation into the accident is underway.
