Gridley, California (November 18, 2020) – Kira Jumper and John Wegner, both 19-year-old Redding residents, have been identified as two of the five people who were killed in a multi-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Gridley, Butte County, according to the Butte County Coroner.

At about 12:40 a.m., on November 14, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly ten-vehicle accident on Highway 99 near Hinamin Drive.

The CHP said five big rigs and five passenger vehicles collided on the highway in unclear circumstances.

Jumper, Wegner, and three other parties, Noah Anderson, 18, of Yuba City, Camille Bent, 20, from Sierra Madre, and Inderpal Rajput, 61, of Live Oak, sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

Traffic on Highway 99 between Biggs and Gridley was stopped for an unknown period due to the mishap.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
