Kevin Hart Identified as Infant Killed in San Joaquin County Crash on Interstate 5 near Charter Way

San Joaquin County, California (December 16, 2019) – The infant who was killed in a crash involving a sheriff’s deputy on Saturday night in San Joaquin County has been identified as 1-year-old Kevin Hart, according to a local news source.
The wreck happened at about 10:38 p.m. December 14, on Interstate 5 near Charter Way.
The deputy was traveling northbound on I-5 when he crashed into the back of a Ford sedan. The impact pushed both vehicles off the side of the road and down the embankment.

The deputy removed a baby from the backseat of the sedan and performed CPR. The baby, identified as Kevin, was then airlifted to a children’s hospital and was later pronounced deceased.
Kevin’s mother, who was driving the sedan, was hospitalized with critical injuries while the deputy was treated and released.
The CHP is investigating the incident.
