Keith Glassman ID’d as Man Killed in Clairemont Car Accident at Genesee Avenue and Marlesta
Clairemont, California (July 24, 2020) – The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man who died in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon in the Clairemont neighborhood in San Diego as Keith Glassman, 58, of San Diego.
The fatal accident happened at around 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, at the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Marlesta Drive.
Police said a white Dodge Durango SUV was heading eastbound on Genessee Avenue when, for unknown reasons, it crossed over the double yellow line into the westbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming silver Kia sedan driven by Glassman.
Due to the impact, the Dodge rolled over and landed upside down while the Kia sedan collided with a Kia SUV that was also traveling westbound. The Kia SUV then struck a guardrail.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and extricated two people who were trapped in the wreckage.
Glassman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Kia SUV, a 48-year-old man, suffered spinal and sternal fractures, several cuts and bruising to his chest and stomach area. The Dodge driver, a 20-year-old man, sustained a fractured left leg, broken nose, right lung contusion, and an orbital fracture. Both drivers were transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital with major injuries.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
Police closed the intersection following the crash. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
The crash remains under investigation by San Diego Police.
