Kathleen Iundice Seriously Injured in Sonoma Bicycle Accident on West Verano Avenue near Arnold Drive

Sonoma, California (June 16, 2021) – Kathleen Iundice, 69, of Sonoma, has been identified as the bicyclist who was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a traffic collision in Sonoma, according to California Highway Patrol.
The major injury accident happened at around 8:06 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, on West Verano Avenue, just east of Arnold Drive.
CHP said Iundice was riding her bicycle on West Verano Avenue when she reportedly rode directly into the path of a 2011 Nissan Altima that was heading eastbound, driven by Kenneth Cavalli, 71, of Sonoma.
The Nissan ultimately collided with the bicycle.
Major Injury Bicycle Collision in Sonoma
Iundice, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Kaiser Hospital in Santa Rosa with major injuries.
There are no marked bike lanes or paths in the area, according to the CHP. Alcohol or drugs was not considered a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
