Katherine Pisesky Dies after Wrong-Way Crash on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa, January 13

Windsor, California (January 17, 2019) – The Forestville woman who suffered major injuries in a suspected DUI wrong-way crash in the North Bay area of Santa Rosa early Sunday morning has succumbed to her injuries.

According to the CHP, the accident occurred at about 12:55 a.m. January 13 on Highway 101 near Arata Lane.

As per the report, a Ford Focus driven by 37-year-old Omar Cisnero-Ramirez, was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the roadway when it collided with a GMC Sierra and a VW Beetle.

The driver of the VW Beetle, Katherine Pisesky, 50, of Forestville, sustained major injuries and was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the GMC and his two passengers were taken to Sutter Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Cisnero-Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of DUI, causing injury, reckless driving and violation of parole.

An investigation is ongoing.
