Kaitlin Rist Hospitalized after Deadly Chico Crash on Highway 99 near Gaia Way
Chico, California (March 28, 2019) – Police have identified one of the people injured in a fatal vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Chico as Kaitlin Rist, 20, of Oroville, according to a local news source.
The crash took place at about 12:30 a.m. March 25, on Highway 99 near Gaia Way.
California Highway Patrol said a 2009 Honda Civic was traveling north on Highway 99 when its driver lost control and collided with an oncoming 2001 Toyota 4Runner driven by Rist.
Kaitlin Rist Injured in Chico Car Crash on Highway 99
Rist and the driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and were both taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment. A passenger in Civic was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
