Calabasas Man Seriously Injured in Ventura Pedestrian Crash on Westlake Boulevard near Bay Drive
Ventura, California (September 13, 2020) – Juan Plasencia Garcia, 26, of Oak Park, was arrested following a DUI pedestrian accident that happened Saturday morning in Ventura, authorities said.
The major injury crash transpired at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday, September 12, in the northbound lane of Westlake Boulevard near Bay Drive.
According to the authorities, a 60-year-old Calabasas man was walking in the bike lane when he was struck from behind by a vehicle operated by Garcia.
Paramedics responded to the scene and found the man suffering from major injuries. He was transported to Los Robles Health System for treatment.
Garcia was not injured and stopped at the scene to cooperate with the police. He was eventually arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
