Solano County, California (May 31, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has identified Juan Diaz, 24, of Fairfield as one of the two people who were injured in a traffic accident that also left one person dead Thursday evening in Solano County.

The deadly crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30 on Highway 113, just south of Casey Road.

According to the CHP, a Hyundai Sonata driven by Diaz was heading northbound on State Highway 113 when the vehicle turned into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with a Dodge Caravan that was traveling southbound.

Diaz and the Dodge driver sustained major injuries and were taken to a hospital. A passenger in the Dodge was declared dead at the scene.

The name of the deceased victim has not been disclosed pending notification of family.

Alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the wreck.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
