Juan Antonio Martinez Arrested After Fremont DUI Car Accident on Central Avenue near Blacow Road That Killed Woman
Fremont, California (March 19, 2019) – The suspected drunk driver who caused a traffic accident that killed a woman Sunday night in Fremont has been arrested, according to a local news source.
The fatal collision occurred at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday, March 17 on Central Avenue near Blacow Road.
Authorities said the suspect, identified as Juan Antonio Martinez, 47, was driving eastbound on Central Avenue when for an unknown reason he allowed his Honda Odyssey to cross over the center divider and went into westbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a Honda Civic. The center divider is around 16 feet wide.
Woman Killed in Fremont Car Crash
Erlinda Domingo, 70, of Newark, who was a passenger in the Civic, died in the wreck.
Martinez reportedly fled the scene of the accident on foot but was later located and arrested. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Alameda County Superior Court in Fremont on Tuesday afternoon.
An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is ongoing.
