Jovana Sanchez Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash on River View Drive in Lake California
Jovana Sanchez ID’d as Woman Killed in Lake California Crash on River View Drive near Antelope Creek Drive

Lake California, California (March 31, 2021) – Authorities have identified the woman who died Tuesday following a single-vehicle traffic accident in Lake California as Jovana Sanchez, 27, of Cottonwood.
The deadly crash took place in the 22533 block of River View Drive near Antelope Creek Drive on Tuesday, March 30.
The California Highway Patrol said Sanchez was driving northbound on River View Drive at a high rate of speed when she turned abruptly and lost control of her car, which slammed into a tree.
Sanchez, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Scott Joyce, 26, of Cottonwood, was transported to Mercy Medical in unknown condition.
Authorities believed alcohol played a role in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
