Joseph Nelson Killed in Graham Head-On Collision
Joseph Nelson Graham Car Crash on Orting-Kapowsin Highway
Graham, Washington (November 23, 2019) – A man who died in a head-on crash Friday morning in Graham has been identified as 42-year-old Joseph Nelson.
The crash happened at about 5:50 a.m. on Orting-Kapowsin Highway.
Nelson was on his way to work in Auburn when the crash occurred.
Witnesses said Nelson’s 2015 Volkswagen Jetta swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a delivery truck traveling south.
Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 27-year-old man driving the truck told Pierce County sheriff’s deputies he attempted to brake and move over but ended up colliding with the Volkswagen. It was not clear if he was injured.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
