Jose Zazueta Arrested after Temecula Car Accident at Rancho California Road and Via Santa Rosa
Temecula, California (June 3, 2019) – A man was arrested following an alleged DUI two-car accident that left a teen dead in Temecula Saturday evening, according to the CHP.
The deadly crash was reported at about 6:20 p.m. June 1, at the intersection of Rancho California Road and Via Santa Rosa.
CHP said Jose Zazueta, 19, of Fallbrook was driving a 2015 BMW 328i that was traveling westbound on Rancho California Road when he, for unknown reasons, drifted into the path of oncoming traffic at a curve and collided with an eastbound 2005 Toyota Corolla.

Zazueta was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular manslaughter. He was also transported to Inland Valley Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
A 15-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Toyota was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity was not immediately released. The 18-year-old driver of the Toyota and an 18-year-old passenger were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with major injuries.
Two other parties in the BMW were taken to the hospital with moderate to major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
