Jose Vargas Jr. Injured in Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on Road 152 in Porterville
Jose Vargas Jr. ID’d as Person Injured in Fatal Porterville Car Crash on Road 152 near Avenue 168
Porterville, California (December 2, 2020) – Jose Vargas Jr., 31, has been identified as the person who was injured in a Sunday morning traffic accident that killed a 41-year-old Earlimart man in Porterville, authorities said.
The deadly two-vehicle accident occurred at about 4:38 a.m., on November 22, on Road 152 south of Avenue 168.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Earlimart man was driving his white 2007 Chevrolet Uplander northbound on Road 152 when he allowed his Chevrolet to drive into the southbound lane into the path of a white 2020 Ram 3500 towing a cattle trailer southbound on Road 152.
Unfortunately, the front of the Chevrolet Uplander reportedly collided with the front of the Ram 3500. Both vehicles sustained significant damage.

The Earlimart Man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vargas Jr., who was a passenger in the Ram truck, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Ram, Gerardo Perez, 64, of Porterville, was not injured in the accident.
Alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the collision, the CHP said.
The crash remains under investigation.
