Jose Serrano Killed in Lone Tree Road Collision in Escalon
Jose Serrano ID’d as Man Killed in Escalon Crash on Lone Tree Road near Brennan Road
Escalon, California (July 14, 2021) – The San Joaquin County Coroner’s Bureau has identified the man who died Wednesday evening following a traffic collision in Escalon as Jose Serrano, 43, of Escalon.
The deadly crash happened at around 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, July 7, on Lone Tree Road, just west of Brennan Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP said a Kubota off-road vehicle, driven by Serrano, was heading eastbound on Lone Tree Road at an unspecified speed while a Ford F-150, driven by a 57-year-old Manteca man, was traveling westbound on Lone Tree approaching the Kubota.
Serrano reportedly failed to see the approaching Ford and steered to the left. The Kubota traveled directly into the path of the oncoming Ford.
The driver of the Ford applied his brakes and swerved to the right to avoid the collision but was not successful. The front of the Ford eventually hit the Kubota.
After the collision, the Kubota slammed into a power pole on the Lone Tree Road’s north shoulder.

Serrano was ejected from his vehicle and died at the scene.
The Ford driver had minor injuries.
No further details about the crash were immediately provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
