Jose Neives Seriously Injured in Fatal Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 5 in Glenn County
Jose Neives Identified as 1 of 3 Injured in Fatal Glenn County Big Rig Crash on Interstate 5 near County Road 60
Glenn County, California (July 15, 2020) – Jose Neives, 48, of San Jose, has been identified as one of the three victims who were injured in a big rig accident that also killed one person on Saturday morning in Glenn County, authorities said.
The deadly crash transpired at around 12:05 a.m., on July 11, on Interstate 5, south of County Road 60.
As per the CHP report, a Freightliner, driven by Brian Lam, 58, of Auburn, Washington, was traveling northbound on Interstate 5 when, for unknown reasons, it lost control and traveled into the center median of the interstate.
Lam reportedly turned the Freightliner back to the right but was unable to regain control. The big rig continued northbound and flipped onto its side, blocking all lanes of northbound Interstate 5.
A Toyota, operated by Jose Neives, 48, of San Jose, crashed into the overturned Freightliner. Neives was driving behind Lam’s truck at the time, according to the officials.
Jose Neives Hospitalized after Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 5 in Glenn County
Mark Neives-Pina, 11, of San Jose, was pronounced dead at the scene. Neives-Pina was a passenger in the Toyota.
Jose Neives and his other passenger, Marie Villasenor, 46, of San Jose, were taken to Enloe Medical Center. Neives sustained moderate injuries while Villasenor sustained major injuries.
Lam sustained minor injuries and was transported to Glenn Medical Center.
