Jose Navarro Killed in Spring Valley Construction Accident at Monte Vista High School
Jose Navarro ID’d as Ironworker Killed in Spring Valley Fall Accident at Monte Vista High School on Sweetwater Springs Boulevard
Spring Valley, California (October 10, 2019) – Jose Arturo Navarro, 30, of Bakersfield, has been identified as the iron-worker who died in a construction accident after falling from a platform Wednesday afternoon in Spring Valley.
The fatal accident happened just before 2:00 p.m.Wednesday, October 9 at the Monte Vista High School on Sweetwater Springs Boulevard.
Authorities said Navarro was connecting beams on a 30-foot platform when a beam struck him, causing him to fall to the ground.
Navarro was rushed to Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, where he was pronounced deceased.
One other worker was treated for minor injuries.
The San Diego office of Cal/OSHA is investigating the crash.
